WEED BE A LOT BETTER IF YOU WENT AWAY
By Parisa Meghdadi
Beaming, on a pleasant day,
strolling to harmonize with the ones I love,
friends, we spend
gazing flicks, intermix.
Soon after, perspective changes,
with incorrect choices, many wrong exchanges.
The boys haul out a vase,
assumed to be,
it was not, as I thought.
Passing around, displaying a frown.
Coming near my turn,
filled with fear and concern.
Peer pressure arising,
plunging away as they pry.
Pant and sigh, I question why,
did I not realize, they are not my allies.
As the smoke fled in,
the panic abandons, leaving a grin.
Agony and anxiety,
transform into giggles.
A sense of glee, filled with carefree,
as many come near, varieties appear.
A brownie I believe,
lie after lie, undergo, deceived.
Minutes have passed,
clarifying the dessert is flawed.
Hours later, I look at the traitor,
slurring my thought, unable to walk.
Stumbling and collapse,
taking advantage, in these traps.
Shoved down,
the cheerful grin shifts to tears.
Minutes fade by, as I try,
to escape abuse, though I might lose.
They pause, they must sense,
if it was done, countless consequence.
Time goes by,
powerless to end,
cravings are here, won't disappear.
The effects wear off,
Enslaved, cannot survive without,
require to cease, with no doubt
As I accepted,
I have a problem.
Pushing to avoid, three days or be destroyed.
After freedom will arise,
withdrawals barged in,
like the starved beast, extremely thin
Unpredictable in time,
unable to recognize myself,
a stranger in rage stuck in this cage.
Unchaperone in solitary,
melancholy kick the door down,
filled with ten, hundreds breakdown.
Eventually absent, through morns and nights,
without the malicious source,
without blame, smiles came.
Discovered me, myself.
No need to feel excited,
the fiend within is never uninvited.
Feeling overjoyed,
as we broke up,
healthy and protected, all I feel is I’ve been affected.
Thankful I battled, and exhibit an example,
assure you can fight,
and as you do, towards the light.
As one may struggle,
speak to family and friends.
To end the tale, tell ever man or female,
Just say no, but if stuck in this way.
And all you can do is say and pray,
weed be a lot better if you went away.
